The internship will concentrate on Brushless DC (BLDC) and Brushed DC (BDC) motors used in automotive applications. The goal is to analyze their performance characteristics, conduct measurements, and create a comprehensive comparison of their main attributes.

Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Motor Selection & Setup

  • Identify representative BLDC and BDC motors suitable for automotive roof systems.

  • Measurement & Data Acquisition

  • Perform tests to measure key parameters such as: Torque, Speed, Efficiency, Power consumption, Noise and vibration levels

  • Data Analysis & Visualization

  • Process measurement data and create clear charts and tables comparing BLDC vs. BDC performance.

  • Overview & Evaluation

  • Summarize findings in a structured report highlighting: Advantages and disadvantages of each motor type. Suitability for automotive roof applications. Cost and complexity considerations

Optional: Explore control strategies (PWM, sensor feedback) and their impact on performance.

What We Expect from You

  • 3rd-year Bachelor student in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or similar)

  • Strong analytical skills and technical knowledge

  • Familiarity with motor control principles and measurement techniques

  • Basic coding skills (C/C++, Matlab/Simulink) for data processing

  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (LIN/CAN/UART) is a plus Deliverables

  • Measurement setup and methodology

  • Comparative data tables and graphs

  • Final report summarizing key findings and recommendations

What we offer you:

  • You will receive a fee of €385,00 gross per month (40hrs). Additionally, we provide a travel compensation/NS card depending on your distance you travel for work.
